After the announcement on Friday that Tito Vilanova would not be continuing as coach of FC Barcelona and the suspension of the first preseason friendly match against Lechia Gdansk, Barça’s first team returned to work this Monday at nine in the morning. The session took place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and was led by Jordi Roura and Rubi. Twenty-three players were present, including 12 from the first team and 11 from Barça B.
Éric Abidal made a surprise visit to the Monday morning session. The ex-Barça defender, currently with Monaco, returned to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to greet his former teammates.
The team will return this evening for a second training session at 19:00.
