Tata Martino the New Fc Barcelona Coach Biography

Video:FC Barcelona Tuesday morning training 23-07-2013

With only one more day to go before the first friendly of the 2013-14 preseason at the Allianz Arena in Munich against Bayern, Barça trained on pitch no. 1 of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with 23 players working on the pitch. The players, comprised of 12 members of the first team and 11 players from Barça B, trained under the direction of the coaching staff led by Jordi Roura and Rubi. This morning’s session continued the trend of recent days, with physical work and the ball the main focus in training.

Besides the players training at the normal pace, three first team members -Carles Puyol, Ibrahim Afellay, and Isaac Cuenca- continued with their respective recovery routines away from the main group.

The team has been using the last few days of training to prepare for its 2013-14 preseason debut, which will take place on Wednesday. Originally the squad’s debut was set for this past Saturday in Poland against Lechia Gdansk, but the match was postponed due to the announcement of Tito Vilanova’s resignation on Friday, making this Wednesday the team’s first match this preseason. The squad will travel to Munich, where it will play against Bayern and ex-Barça coach Pep Guardiola and player Thiago Alcántara at 18:30. After the match, Barça will travel to Norway to play against Valerenga on Saturday at 19:00 at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.

Barça will return this afternoon for another training session at seven this evening. After the training session, the list of players who will travel to Munich and Oslo will be announced.
